Starting point
BASF Coatings had developed the Tracingo tracker at its Münster site. It shows where an IBC is and how full it is. Together with THIELMANN and NXTGN, BASF Coatings wanted to bring the solution to logistics. THIELMANN contributed its knowledge of IBCs and of customer requirements.
What NXTGN developed
NXTGN developed Tracingo into the Chem.Trace Z2 tracker. NXTGN Technologies built the hardware and firmware, NXTGN Solutions the ibc.digital platform and the app. The tracker measures location, temperature and fill level without opening the container.
The ibc.digital platform
In ibc.digital, liquid manufacturers and freight forwarders see where their IBCs are and what condition they are in. Alerts flag, for example, due ADR inspections. Customers manage their containers in self-service, including rental or pool models. The platform connects to ERP systems.
Result and operations
Several hundred devices are in use today. NXTGN operates ibc.digital and keeps developing the tracker and the platform.
How tracker, app and ERP fit together
Trackers and QR codes deliver the data. The app shows it and passes transactions on to the ERP.
